I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Board-Approved Supervisor in Texas and Virginia, and Counselor Educator with extensive experience supporting adolescents, adults, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds. My work spans various settings, including outpatient treatment, partial outpatient care, inpatient residential treatment, and acute psychiatric environments. I have helped at-risk youth seeking a fresh start, parolees and probationers striving for positive change, and individuals dealing with psychosis who need clarity in their lives.
I hold a doctorate degree in Counselor Education and Supervision (2024) from Liberty University, and a graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio (2004). I am trained in individual, couple, family counseling; supervision; and counselor education. My clinical approach incorporates a variety of techniques to foster trust and rapport with my clients such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and solution-focused strategies.
As a counselor, my role is to be an empathetic listener, creating a safe environment for clients to share their most intimate thoughts and begin their healing journey. I believe that clients possess the answers within themselves; my aim is to help them pause and listen for those insights. By serving as an unbiased listener, I hope to guide clients toward clarity and hope.
As an approved LPC Supervisor in Texas and Virginia, I have nearly 13 years of experience mentoring counseling associates, residents, and counselors-in-training, supporting their growth and skill development. My supervisory approach is open, honest, strengths-based, and collaborative. My aim is to provide an environment for the supervisee that potentially leads to positive outcomes for the client.
As a counselor educator, my goal is to provide guidance and direction to graduate counseling students and counselors-in-training to assist their clients to greater well-being.
